On special request I wrote down a pattern for chicks. Enjoy!
Materials:
- yellow, orange, red and white yarn
- thick black thread for eyes
- hook 3mm
Base of egg warmer:
Pattern:
Left Wing - make 1 for each chicken:
yellow yarn
R1: 6 sc in MR (6)
R2: inc around (12)
R3: 3 ch, ss in 2-nd chain, ss in 1-st chain you made, ss (in base circle), 5 ch, ss in 2-nd chain from hook, ss in 3-rd chain, sc in 4-th, sc (in base circle), ss FO
Right Wing - make 1 for each chicken:
yellow yarn
R1: 6 sc in MR (6)
R2: inc around (12)
R3: 5 ch, ss in 2-nd chain, ss in 3-rd, sc in 4-th, ss (in base circle), 3 ch, ss in 2-nd chain, ss in 3-rd chain, sc (in base circle), ss FO
Legs - make 2 for each chicken
orange yarn
4 ch, ss in 2-nd chain, ss, ss (marked place), 4 ch, ss in 2-nd chain, ss in 3-rd, ss in marked place, 3 ch, ss in 2-nd chain, ss in 3-rd, ss in marked place. FO
Beak - make 1 for each chicken
orange yarn
R1: 4 sc in MR (4)
R2: sc, dc, FO
sc and dc from R2 are the part You need to sew to the chick, so that the MR from R1 will stick out forming a beak.
With thick black thread make the eyes.
Hair - make 1 for girl chick :)
yellow yarn
6ch, sc in 2-nd chain, sc 3, ss, 6 ch, sc in 2-nd chain, sc 3, ss, 4 ch, sc in 2-nd chain, sc in 3-rd, ss in last chain FO
Bow - make 1 for girl chick :)
red yarn
R1: leave a long tail of thread (3-4 cm) 10 ch,
R2: ss in 1-st chain you made forming a circle, sc 8, ss FO leave a bit of thread.
Now fold the bow in half, You should have a red rectangle. Take thread from the beginning and wrap tightly in the middle. Tie both ends (tight!) of yarn and cut them leaving a small ends of bowlike shown on the picture below.
Eggshell
white yarn
R1: 6 sc in MR (6)
R2: inc around (12)
R3: * sc, inc * X6 (18)
R4: * sc 2, inc* X6 (24)
R5: ss, sc, hdc, dc 2, sc, ss, 4ch, ss in 2-nd chain, hdc in 3-rd chain, dc in 4-rd, ss in 2-nd chain from base circle, sc 2, hdc, dc 2, hdc, sc, ss, 4 ch, ss in 2 nd chain, hdc in 3-rd, dc in 4-th, ss in 2-nd chain from base circle, 5ch, ss in 2-nd chain, sc in 3-rd, hdc in 4-th, dc in 5-th, ss in 3-rd chain in base circle. sc 2, FO
With colors I marked three protruded ( is that a good word?!), triangular parts of the shell.
