Big Hero 6 - Baymax free pattern

I looooove Disney movies - all of them, probably every single one and now that my son is old enough (1,5y) I have an excuse to watch them from the beginning once more :) YAY!!! I'm trying to avoid to much television so we are not watching every day but I can definitely say that the favorite one for now is "Where is NEMO?" but from what I have heard it's not uncommon.

Anyway it's always so nice to watch something new I especially love the ones with a new concept. Since I have watched the trailer of the new movie BIG HERO 6 I knew immediately I would like the movie very much, but the most importantly that I'm in love with Baymax.

The  world premiere of the movie was 7.11.2014, but as always, in Poland the movie will be released 28.11.2014 because of the Polish dubbing they need to record. ( For those who doesn't know we have amazing dubbing for animated movies, sometimes even better than the actual text. SERIOUSLY ).

So I didn't see the whole movie yet but I already made the little Baymax for my desk and I would like to share the pattern with You. Designing the character:

Back to crochet pattern. First step for me is always designing the character on paper. Below You can see the first project. I always try to make my characters the size I designed on paper, but they are always a bit bigger. Also below You can see the drawing that inspired me. I loved the little red heart  on otherwise one colored character. I also wanted to incorporate the lines to my crochet character, so I decided to sew them with thick, grey embroidery floss.

Materials:

When You have the concept of the character ready You have to collect the materials. Below is the list of items I used

• white yarn ( I use the yarn which gauge is 24.0 to 30.0 sts = 4 inches )
• hook 4 mm
• black and red sheet of foam (mine is 1 mm thick) for eyes and red heart. If You don't have foam do't worry You can easly use little scrap of material or even embroider with thread. It's really up to You
• hot glue gun - If Yu are using foam like I did
• cotton or something else You will use as filament
• grey embroidery floss 

Potted plant decoration - Flowerman

Flowerman - As always, he is not the cutest or the prettiest one, but certainly my favorite! He is so weirdly cute that he makes me smile every time I look at him. He reminds me of some old RPG games, where he would be one of the easiest, lame enemies You fight when You are level 1 :)

Materials:

• yellow, green, blue or pink yarn ( I use the yarn which gauge is 24.0 to 30.0 sts = 4 inches )
• hook 3 mm
• white sheet of foam (mine is 1 mm thick) for eyes
• 2 black beads ( 4 mm would be best)
• clothes pin - the best would be the smaller version - 3 cm 
• hot glue gun
• cotton or something else You will use as filament

Easter egg decoration - Sheep

Sheep I made some time ago for my Mom ( She collects sheep of any sorts and kinds). They are wonderful to decorate your table for Easter or basically any other occasion You serve eggs. They look really wonderful, a bit silly maybe but mostly very very cute.
When I was making pictures for this pattern I had this fantasy about making the whole flock of white sheep with only one black in the middle. What a wonderful table decoration that woud be. Anyway I recommend You to make at least two from the pattern below.

Potted plant decoration - Silly Bee

I created this plant decorations to add a bit of color to my plants, which bloom but only occasionally. For the rest of the year when they are just green :) I like to make them more interesting.
Silly Bee is the first one of my "Potted Plant Decoration" series. Please see the pictures below for the sneak peek of other members of this family.

POlittle - little PO - part 1

For my next project I decided to make another panda ( Yes, I love pandas, zombie pandas, kung-fu pandas and so on....). This one is from KUNG FU PANDA 2 It appears on screen only for a few seconds but It was long enough to steal my heart. Below the screen I'm writing about.

I think It would be the exact same size as my drawing ( half of A4 paper) so It will fit in both hands. I think the most challenging will be to make it a bit aged, that is why I don't want to use white and black yarn but some shades of grey.

Aplikacje szydełkowe - wodny swiat

Seria aplikacji zrobionych na szydełku.
W przyszłości mam zamiar zrobić z nich magnesy na lodówkę. Rybki są bardzo lekkie więc utrzyma je nawet malutki okrągły magnesik. Mój syn uwielbia bawić się magnesami a wiele dostępnych w sklepach jest dla niego za małe np. popularne plastikowe literki, które notorycznie wkłada do buzi i boje się, że się nimi zachłyśnie. Stąd właśnie pomysł na milutkie, duże magnesy.
Tematykę wodną wybrałam ze względu na kolorystykę i różnorodność wzorów, a jednocześnie spójność całej kolekcji.
W następnych postach opiszę dokładnie jak zrobiłam poszczególne aplikacje. Mam nadzieję że komuś przypadną do gustu i zrobi pożytek z wzorów :)

In the future, I'm going to make fridge magnets from them. Fish are very light, so even a tiny circular magnet will hold them on place. My son loves to play with magnets, but many commercially available is too small for him, eg. popular plastic letters, which he notoriously puts into his mouth. Hence the idea for ​​a soft, big magnets. I chose the underwater theme due to the color and variety of designs, while the consistency of the entire collection.
In future posts I will explain exactly how I did individual applications. I hope someone will make them too :)

Od kiedy urodził się mój synek nosiłam się z zamiarem kupienia kukiełki, ale we wszystkich sklepowych coś mi nie odpowiadało (nie ukrywam, że często cena...). Postanowiłam więc postawić na własnoręczną kukiełkę i był to strzał w 10-tkę. Już za pierwszym razem gdy pokazałam Aleksowi (synkowi wtedy miał rok i 3 miesiące) zaczął wytykać język i otwierać paszczę tak jak dinozaur, co przyniosło dużo uciechy całej rodzinie. Od tamtej pory dino zdążył pojechać z nami na wakacje i nawet wybrał się na wycieczkę do dino-parku w Łebie... Mam nadzieje, że poniższy wzór przyda się jeszcze komuś i przyniesie światu więcej wytykających języki dzieci.... :)

( Since my son was born I intended to buy him a hand puppet, but in all puppets in shops something did not suit me (I admit that often the price ...). So I decided to make my own puppet and it was a great desicion. Already for the first time when I showed Dino to Alex (son then had a year and three months than) he began to point out the tongue and open jaws just like a dinosaur, which brought a lot of fun for the whole family. Since then dino was on vacation with us and even went on a trip to the dino-park in Leba ... I hope that someone will make another puppet from the pattern below, and the world will gain one more tongue-out-sticking baby.... :)

Potworne buciki - ogólny wzór

Buciki te projektowałam z myślą o dzieciach do 6 miesiąca, które nie potrafią jeszcze chodzić czy raczkować. Buciki pomagają zainteresować dziecko stópkami, dlatego właśnie skierowane są buzią do góry. Całkowity rozmiar skończonego bucika to 10 cm, tak aby pasował na różne rozmiary dziecięcych stópek, pomiędzy 0, a 6 miesięcy.
Tematyka moich bucików to urocze potworki różnych rodzajów i kolorów o czym można się przekonać przeglądając inne posty z tej serii.

( I designed these booties for babies up to 6 months, who can not walk or crawl yet. That kind of colorful and playful booties can help interest  your child with his/her feet, which is why their mouths are directed upwards. The overall size of the finished bootie is 10 cm, so as to fit the different sizes of children's feet, between 0 and 6 months.
