BIG CAT pillow

I have made this huge pillow for my daughter – they are now inseparable, she is eating, sleeping and riding on it, she is pulling the cat all over our house which is completely hilarious because the cat is almost as big as she is right now. Making something that big was a challenge, but totally worth it. 

Crochet cat pillow when lying down is around 70 cm (27 inches) from the front paws to the end of the tail.

I used 55% cotton yarn which measures 175 yards (160 meters) for 100 g, weight Aran / 10 ply (8 wpi), Gauge 18 st is 4 inches (10 cm) and 5,5 mm hook

Platypus

Do you know disney's Phineas and Ferb - my kids (and husband) looove it, especially Perry the Platypus :)

Platypus, when finished is 22 cm long (8.6 inches) , 32 cm (12.6 inches) with the tail.

HamBEARger

I am sure you are a little bit curious how I came up with the HamBEARger. It is actually my sons idea, when he came up with that I thought it’s so crazy I simply have to do it! and I think the result is magnificent and tasty! I hope you will love your end result as much as my son did, he immediately took it to his kindergarten to show all his friends, I am so glad none of them ate it, although my son said they tried :)

Swiper no swiping

Finished swiper the fox is 45 cm (17.7 inches) long with the tail - 33 cm (13 inches) without it. He is one of the main characters in my children favorite tv series 'Dora the explorer'. When you see him in the movie, you have to say: 'Swiper, no swiping'! three times - and let me tell you if I would get a penny each time I heard that since I have made him I would be so loaded :)....my children are shouting that phrase over and over and over....

.... so 'Swiper, no swiping  Swiper, no swiping  Swiper, no swiping'.

Cars - Lightning, Sally, Mater pattern

3 Cars crochet pattern in 1 - Lightning McQueen, Sally Carrera and Mater tow truck from The Cars Disney movie. Pattern for each car is in separate PDF file.

Each car is more or less 10 cm (4 inches) long, Mater is a bit longer if You are counting his hook. They are perfect to play with and to hug and sleep later.

We had so much fun with my son playing with those 3 little cars, we drew street on the big black paper as You can see on the photos below. I am so glad I made them smaller than my usual toys, this way Aleks can play with them and mix with the other cars he already have. Definitely a creative crochet toy for our little boys and girls - and about the gender in toys my son is always giving my Carrera to "be" in play I want to be McQueen for once!! :)

Jake and the Never land Pirates is one of my favorite shows that my son is watching, it's cute and funny and the most important of all it's a bit educational. I love Disney's productions and like so many times before I don't really care for humans I always love the animal characters best. So I knew right away I will make Skully for my son, I didn't gave it to him right away he had to find it using the pirate map my husband made. Let me tell You - he was delighted :)

 

Crochet Skully when finished is 18 cm (7 inches) to the end of head. It's perfect to put on Your shoulder and shout "Yo ho ho" :)

 

Supervillains fingerpuppets - free pattern

Super villains  fingerpuppets pattern is finally here. I am sorry it took that long. I know some of You waited for this pattern, it was extremely hard for me to write it after so much time has past. I couldn't make any sense of my notes so if You will see that something is not right with the pattern please let me know and we will fix it together :)

Villains finger puppets set contains: Catwoman, Poison Ivy, Joker, Penguin, Riddler.

1. Cat woman

Materials:

• beige, black, red, grey yarn ( I use the yarn which gauge is 24.0 to 30.0 sts = 4 inches )
• hook 3 mm
• 2 black beads ( 4 mm would be best)

I am sure You have already seen the Good Dinosaur, it is a special movie for me, I sew it with my almost 3 yo son who was in the cinema for the first time in his life :) He loved it, I loved it, so from both our loves came this little crochet dinosaur You see.   

Finished Arlo is 16 cm long (6,3 inches)

 

 
This 14 page PDF tutorial contains 33 photos and detailed instructions on how to crochet the toy. It is written in English with standard crochet terms. It contains 1 page with abbreviations (You can always check the symbol).

This pattern is for the medium advanced crocheters but if You are ready to try I am always ready to help . You should know basic crochet stitches including chain, slip stitch, single crochet, decrease, increase, double crochet, half double crochet and how to start with magic ring.

For my projects I use yarn which meterage is 174 yards (159 meters) for 50 g, weight Sport / 5 ply (12 wpi), Gauge 24 to 30 st is 4 inches (10 cm) and 3 mm hook. You will need olive, medium brown, green, white and black colors of yarn.

Boots is a beloved character from Dora the Explorer, me and my son are actually a big fans of the show. In Poland Dora is teaching English and my 2,5 son is learning soooooo much, and sometimes there is even something for me to learn :P

Two headed dragon-baby rattle. Lovely handmade gift for a baby shower - cute, colorful dragon with a few ribbons for little fingers to play with.

Rattle that I created was for my son, who was still in my belly then. I have put a huge amount of love in it and I must admit that I am very pleased with the final result, and although my son is still too tiny (3 weeks) to play with it now I hope that he will love it and one day will be grateful for a time I spend to create this unique gift for him.

Finished rattle from heads to the end of tail is 9.8 inches (25 cm), the base circle is about 4.3 inches (11 cm).

Finger puppets 2 - SUPERVILLAINS sneak peek

Do You remember these guys?:

When I was making the superheroes finger puppets I had so much fun I promised myself I will make more and what is a better pair for superheroes if not super-villains.

I chose villains from the Batman movies cause there is so many colorful characters to chose from, the ones I made are probably my favorite ones. So there they are:

I will make posts about each and every character with pattern to crochet it yourself. When? I hope soon - as soon as my 4 weeks old son will sleep a bit more than half an hour ( he is always hungry :) I hope You will like the supervillains set as much as You loved the heroes. I also hope it's not the end of my finger puppets series of crochet characters, I don't have the theme yet, but I am sure something will came out.
