Recently I feel like a little mad hatter myself, well maybe not hatter but a crazy hair clip maker. When I bought a set of eight hairclips in store I fought I would use two maybe three, but it's so freaking hard to stop yourself once You start making them. I have so many ideas for hairclips and I am so excited to make something girly again :) well as girly as I possibly could, Mad Hatter is girly, right?!

Anyway do I even have to write I love Alice in Wonderland? Is there someone here who don't?.... Yes I fought I would here an awkward silence :)

Please enjoy the pattern and as always send photos here if You would like to share the results.

Don't FO yet, make the nice edge of sc and then FO.

Take the black thread and make the inscription "10/6". If You are wondering what that means the most common answer is that 10/6 is the price of the hat 10 shillings and six pence :)

Leaf - make 2

green yarn

R1: 14 ch (14)

R2: ss 3, sc 2, hdc 3, sc 2, ss 3 on one side of chain,
ss3, sc 2, hdc 3, sc 2, ss 3 on other 1 ch FO

I recommend leaving a long tail with You will tie down with the beginning. Interweave the ending tail through the leaf and tie with the beginning like You can see on the photos.

Hat band - make 1

ginger yarn

R1: 36 ch (36) make ss in first ch to create circle like on the photo.

R2: 36 sc (36)

R3: 36 sc (36) FO

Now it's time for a little paper craft. Cut the shape from the cardboard or used roll of toilet paper. I made the one on the checkered paper to show You the size, but please remember Yours may differ.

Now roll the cardboard and put it in a hat's crown. You can taped it to maintain the shape You desire.

Sew leaves....

.... and paper (or price tag),...

...... place and sew the band. And last step sew the brim.
I was thinking about putting some filament in the brim, but decided not to. You just need to check how it would look like with and without.

THE END of the hat pattern, but it certainly is not the end of my hair clip making.......
