Who You gonna call?...

... GHOSTBUSTERS!  Free pattern for a Ghostbusters crochet pin. For all the old timers out there :)

I am defienietly having a phase: "make something from something else" :) First I made a baby soother holder from a key leash and today I am making a new look for the old pin. I is a very fast and easy pattern and the result is so funny - I hope You will try it too.

Materials:

• black, white, red yarn ( I use the yarn which gauge is 24.0 to 30.0 sts = 4 inches )
• hook 3 mm
• big round pin (Mine is almost exactly 5,5 cm)

 

Pattern:

Base (Make 1)

start with black yarn

R1: 6 sc in MR (6)

R2: inc around (12)

R3: * sc, inc * X6 (18)

R4: * sc 2, inc * X6 (24)

R5: * sc 3, inc * X6 (30)

R6: * sc 4, inc * X6 (36)

 change to red yarn

R7: * sc 5, inc * X6 (42)

R8: BLO (Back loops only) sc 42

we will stop here for now, we will sew other parts and than finish, You can FO if You want and reattach yarn later.












Check  if the base You made covers the pin.

Body (Make 1)

white yarn

R1: 6 sc in MR (6)

R2: inc around (12)

R3: * sc, inc * X6 (18)

R4: 3 ch, ss in chain, sc in chain, sc into the base circle, ss FO

Hand (Make 2)

white yarn

R1: 5 ch

R2: * ch 3, ss in 2-nd ch, sc in 3-rd ch * X3, dc into 5-th ch from R1, sc, ss 3 FO

Remember to make 2 hands.

Head (Make 1)

white yarn

R1: 6 sc in MR (6)

R2: * 3scin1, inc, sc * X2 (12)

R3: sc 2, inc 3, sc 3, inc 3, sc (18)



R4: * sc 2, inc * X5, 4ch, ss in chain, sc in chain, inc in chain, 2hdcin1 into the base of the head, inc, sc, ss FO

All parts of the ghost are ready.

He is looking cute already!









Take black yarn and make the ghost face, start with making two eyes more or less in the middle of the head. Make eyebrows, than nose mouth and a little line under mouth.

Use white yarn to make reflections in the eyes.

Sew the body to the pin base.

Sew hands. One of the arms extends beyond pin.

Sew head (  It also extends beyond the base of pin.)









Red line (Make 1)

red yarn

R1: ch 15 (15)

R2: sc 14 (14) FO


Sew the ban line to the pin







 We will go back to making the base now.

Attach the red yarn if You decided to FO

 put the base on pin and make:

R8: * sc, dec * around (28)

R9: dec around (14) FO - hide the tail

Yay! The pin is finished. You can proudly put it on Your bag, backpack or blouse.
